How I Went From 0 to 20.8k Views on Pinterest in 1 Month

When I decided to shift my business from consulting to blogging at the end of August, I knew that I could apply the social media skills that I had learned as a virtual assistant directly to my blogging strategy. I knew Pinterest was a powerful tool to get exposure for yourself, your blog, and your business, but I never thought I could grow my monthly view total as quick as I did.

This may not be a huge stat for some, but as a "new" blogger, my growth was insane and I'm over here celebrating!

I had been noticing a steady increase in monthly views within the last week alone, so decided to keep track of it. On September 30th, my monthly view total was at 13.8k. The next day, October 1st, it had gone up to 15k. By the morning of October 2nd, I noticed that I had officially reached 20.8k monthly views. *Insert happy dance here* I clearly must be doing something right.

Now, before you start asking yourself what course I took, I wanted to let you know that I didn't buy a course or work with anyone specific to do this at first. All I did was research what others were doing, read other blog posts, and followed these 4 steps:

1) Changed my personal Pinterest page to a business page - This was a game changer for me. I removed all of the people who had content that didn’t relate to what I am currently doing and started following those who have Lifestyle blogs themselves. The analytics are amazing and give me the knowledge I need to implement a strategy that works!

2) Joined Facebook Groups and Group Boards on Pinterest - The Facebook groups I’m in have daily threads to help promote your content and collaborate with other bloggers. It’s a great resource to have when you’re just starting out because it's free exposure as long as you reciprocate.

3) Joined Tailwind & Tailwind Tribes - I’ll admit that this was a bit confusing at first but I quickly got the hang of it. With a free month of Tailwind, I was able to learn the ins and outs and find tribes that relate to Lifestyle & Lifestyle Blogs. I’m currently pinning around 25 pins per day via Tailwind alone and pin the rest randomly throughout the day. Want to try it yourself? Click here for your free month!

And, I love connecting with other bloggers so much that I created my own Tailwind Tribe - Join the tribe today!

4) Consistently pinned new content from my blog, recycled old content, and found awesome pins from other bloggers to post. I typically repin my blog posts and find other pins that relate to my content (lifestyle, mindset, and business). I do this to increase my reach and to support other bloggers by sharing, repinning, and commenting on their posts. It's definitely a must!

In order to be seen, you need to take action and promote yourself every day. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, I'd check in and find out why. I was too afraid to promote myself and my content for so long, but now that I found my voice, I feel more confident than ever and it's showing in my numbers.
